Mystery Revealed

     The third time I’d read The Chronicles Of Narnia was with my two boys, Bishop and Seth.  During the first book, The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe, I found myself crying as we covered the death of Aslan, the Christ-figure lion.  For the first time, I became overwhelmed with the resurrection that C. S. Lewis had depicted.  It was something totally unexpected.  What really nailed me to the wall was the conversation that took place between Aslan and Susan, one of the sisters, and soon-to-be queens of Narnia.  She’d asked Him the true-to-life equivalent of:  “If Satan is supposed to be so smart, how did he not know about the part after he slaughtered You, when You came back to life bigger and more glorious than ever?”  That is the question, isn’t it.  For time untold this was the mystery of the entire universe.  God chose to withhold this from all of Creation, especially Lucifer, until the appointed time, when it would be irrevocably revealed.  What once was concealed from the cosmos was now being made available to children.  Wow.  It was that night, reading to my sons, that this song was born.
